The People Who Stitch Your Story Together
Hey, hey, hey! Good morning, everyone! It’s Monday, September 8th, 2025, just a little after 9 AM here in LA. Another week, another sunrise, and honestly, my brain is already buzzing with thoughts even before my second coffee has kicked in.
So, yesterday I was all wrapped up in this "narrative" hunt, right? Trying to figure out what my story is, how all the pieces fit. And I spent a good chunk of Sunday just… thinking. About my designs, about my classes, about what I want out of life. It felt a little like I was trying to solve a puzzle all by myself, staring at a bunch of disconnected pieces.
But then, last night, I was chatting with my roommate, Chloe, about a new project we have coming up in our design class. We were brainstorming ideas, bouncing concepts off each other, and suddenly, it hit me. Like, a total lightbulb moment.
My narrative isn't just my narrative. It’s also shaped by the people around me.
Think about it. Chloe, with her blunt honesty and incredible eye for detail, pushes me to refine my ideas. My professor, even with her sometimes-stinging critiques, makes me dig deeper and articulate my vision. Even the random guy I went on that hilariously awkward coffee date with last week? He inadvertently gave me material for a new design concept (long story, involving a very unfortunate hat).
It’s like, we’re all constantly influencing each other, adding threads to each other’s tapestries. The conversations I have, the friendships I build, even the fleeting interactions – they all contribute to the fabric of who I'm becoming. They help me see angles I wouldn't have noticed on my own, challenge my assumptions, and sometimes, just give me a much-needed laugh when I'm taking myself too seriously.
This "Genesis" stage isn't just about me figuring myself out in a vacuum. It's about understanding how my relationships, big and small, are helping to stitch together my story. It’s like they’re all co-authors, adding their own flair to my evolving design. And honestly? That makes the whole "narrative hunt" feel a lot less daunting, and a lot more exciting.
Time to go tackle this Monday, and see what new threads get added to my story today. Wish me luck! ✨
