My "Design Team": More Than Just Friends, They're My Fabric

Hey besties! It’s Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, just past 9 AM here in sunny LA, and I'm sipping my usual oat latte, but today, it feels different. The past few days have been a whirlwind of thoughts, reflections, and honestly, some pretty deep self-discovery. Yesterday, I was talking about embracing the snags, turning obstacles into design elements, and it got me thinking about the bigger picture.

Okay, so after yesterday's deep dive into intentional living, I've been thinking a lot about my "design team" – aka, the amazing people in my life. I mentioned them a few days ago, how they're actively shaping me, but I don't think I fully grasped just how much until now. It's like I saw them as important tools in my creative process, but I'm realizing they're more like the actual fabric I'm working with.

This "Maturation" journey, this whole "Mandy 2.0" thing, wouldn't even be happening if it weren't for the people around me. My best friends, my family, even the cute barista who remembers my order – they all play a part. They’re the ones who call me out when I'm being dramatic (lovingly, of course), the ones who celebrate my small wins, and the ones who just listen when I'm spiraling about a design project.

Before, I think I saw personal growth as this solo mission, like I had to figure it all out by myself. And while self-reflection is super important, I'm realizing that true evolution, the kind that sticks, is so deeply intertwined with our relationships. They hold up a mirror, sometimes a funhouse mirror, but a mirror nonetheless, showing us sides of ourselves we might not see otherwise. They challenge us, comfort us, and push us to be better versions of ourselves.

It's not just about finding supportive people; it's about actively nurturing those connections. That’s a huge part of intentional living, right? Making sure I'm showing up for them as much as they show up for me. Because if my relationships are the fabric of my life, I want to make sure that fabric is strong, vibrant, and made with love.
