Stitching Stories: My First Foray into Cultural Design

Mandy

Hey, fashion fam! It's your girl Mandy, back with another update from the heart of LA. It's a foggy Friday morning, and as I sip my third cup of coffee (because, let's be real, one is never enough), I'm reflecting on the whirlwind of events I've been diving into lately.

This past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to attend The Boutique Hub's LA Experience 2025. This invite-only event was a game-changer, offering private showroom tours, networking with top boutique owners, and exclusive workshops. It was a deep dive into the business side of fashion, and I left feeling both inspired and a tad overwhelmed.

One of the highlights was meeting Roksolana Bogutska, a renowned Ukrainian fashion designer. Her fusion of traditional Ukrainian styles with modern designs is nothing short of breathtaking. It got me thinking about how cultural heritage can influence contemporary fashion, and I'm eager to explore this in my own designs.

Looking ahead, I'm marking my calendar for the Ukrainian Fashion Show on September 14th at the Ukrainian Cultural Center. It's a charity fundraiser supporting humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine, and I can't wait to see how other designers are blending tradition with modernity.

Balancing classes, design projects, and attending these events is a challenge, but it's all part of the journey. Each experience, each connection, is shaping me into the designer I aspire to be. And while the path is filled with late nights and countless cups of coffee, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Until next time, stay stylish and caffeinated!

With love and a touch of espresso,

Mandy
