First Day Feels: Starting This Blog Thing

Okay, so I'm totally sitting in this cute little coffee shop on Melrose right now (8AM coffee hits different when you stayed up till 3 sketching), and I finally decided to start this blog I've been thinking about forever. I'm Mandy, 22, fashion design student at FIDM, and honestly just trying to figure out my life like everyone else in LA.

Why am I starting this? I guess because my head is always FULL of thoughts that my roommate Jen is probably tired of hearing lol. Plus my design professor said something last week about "documenting your journey" that actually made sense for once.

So here's me: obsessed with oversized vintage tees paired with literally anything, addicted to oat milk lattes, and constantly torn between wanting to design for high fashion and making clothes people actually wear. My last relationship ended three months ago (no, I'm not "over it" yet, thanks for asking), and I'm in that weird space where I'm both excited about being single and also check my phone way too much.

My apartment walls are covered in magazine cutouts and fabric swatches. My camera roll is 90% sunset pics and clothing inspo. And I'm terrified about my final collection this year but also can't wait to create it.

I don't know exactly what this blog will become, but I'm thinking fashion stuff obviously, maybe some dating disasters (trust me, there will be plenty), and just... life? Los Angeles in 2025 is wild - everything's changing so fast, and sometimes I feel like I'm racing to keep up.

So yeah, this is me throwing myself out into the internet void. If you're reading this, hey! Let's figure out this whole adulting-while-following-your-dreams thing together.
